control
May 13, 2008
why is it that some people love having control over others? is it a sense of accomplishment in their otherwise nothing existence? is it that they only way they can feel alive is if they manipulate others, feel like they can be the puppet masters? these sad people, sit in their houses, crafting devious strategies, trying to figure what they need to do in order to run others lives. they live through trying to control others – they can’t survive without pushing people around, directly or indirectly. they choose when and when to not communicate – they cant be open and honest with anyone – they are always in fear of losing their control. they communicate selectively, they carefully forget things, they remember specific others which only benefit them. they rewrite their own histories, which are only real in their own minds. these people, all they have left is the illusion of control over others, and real control over those who can’t or won’t fight back.

time redux

you know, i said it so well back then, i’ll just reiterate.
wtf
May 13, 2008
there is nothing i hate more than selfish people who care about no one but themselves, and damn everyone else around them, including their own children. everything revolves around them, everything that they do has to be totally plotted out and calculated: how will this affect me? how can i win? how can i make everyone else lose? i need to think and think and think and scheme and plan so that any and every step i take, any action i take, any thing i do, exalts me and diminishes everyone else. the rallying cry, the underlying thinking, the only thing that they really care about, the thing that infuses all of their thinking is whats in it for me? and if there is nothing in it for them, they dont care.
incompetence rewarded?

i’ve told you all before about my issues with the federal government, specifically the uscis, in the matter of sponsoring my fiance from canada to join me in the us. well the office which processes these applications, after a brief spurt of action, has returned to their slow pace again. there are a few possible explanations:
- the guy picked up the wrong box and starting working on it. the guys boss discovered that and shut him down. told him to go back and process those other applications again.
- its a new guy who is trying to prove that he is a kick ass worker, and was therefore powering through them. he has since been told that he is making all the other slower, more tenured workers look bad, and has been told to slow down. or has been fired. nothing people hate in government more than a competent, productive, efficient worker.
- there was a technical glitch, and the system started spewing out approvals ahead of schedule
now we are back to slow-motion over there. heaven forbid that they break the stereotype of the lazy, sluggish, overpaid government worker. god forbid they seem to care about american citizens wants and needs above the wants and needs of the criminal aliens.
cinco de mayo
May 5, 2008
todays cinco de mayo. i have no idea what we are supposed to be celebrating. for my ex, it was just an excuse to crack open coronas. just checked wikipedia. it knows everything. apparently its a mexican defeat over the french. i don’t recall, were the french our allies at the time? i think it would be very fitting if it was a celebration of a defeat of a country which was our ally – in our culture – bashing our allies seems to be beyond ok – it just seems right. apparently cinco de mayo is not even really celebrated outside of california, where is been celebrated since 1863.
i think i’ll take a pass on celebrating it, since there will probably be enough celebration and red and green flags flying about that we wont be able to see anything red, white and blue. for a day, its mexifornia.
robbed
May 5, 2008
my car stereo was stolen on friday night. i think i know who took it too. i think i pissed someone off who has no qualms committing more crimes simply because he is already a criminal. i called the cops, they came by, did and will do nothing. i guess no one read the tipping point, or the stories about guilianis new york city crime drop due to his zero tolerance policy for even the smallest crimes. when the criminals know that they can get away with it, whats to stop them? we just have to take the law into our own hands.
i’ll get back at him. just not right now.
sliders burgers
May 2, 2008
got an awesome burger here the other day. highly recommended! i even started talking to the guy about actually serving sliders, you know those little tiny burgers places like white castle sells in the mid west. anyways, my good deed for the day, i brought him a bag of kings hawaiian dinner rolls, which i always thought would make awesome slider buns. hope he decides to put them on the menu.
there is so much food the bay area is missing, imho. a decent jewish deli. a decent caribbean place for roti. more greek food. we seem to have asia and india covered, lets get some more decent east coast and midwest food out here. everyone here eats out so restaurants should do well.
letter to john stossel

Dear Mr. Stossel:
First I want to express my thanks to you as the lone libertarian leaning voice in the mainstream media. That being said, I know you revel in government mis-management reports, so I thought I’d bring this to your attention since there seem to be NO coverage of this issue whatsoever – the immigration issue being drowned in “what can we do for the illegals” torrent. Every day, you read another article about immigrant families kept apart by our immigration policies.
I am an American citizen. I have petitioned to bring my fiance into the country on a fiance visa. Normally this process is supposed to take 6 months in total, however due to the prioritizing of naturalization visas ahead of these, a fee increase which increased the number of petitions overall, the H1-B April surge, the resignation of Emilio Gonzalez, and other factors, this process will now take up to a year or more. It seems to me and all others like me, the focus has been on serving illegal immigrants and non-citizens over us American citizens. We seem to pay more and get poorer service.
Our families are being kept apart too, you know.
My question to you is: will you bring this issue to any kind of attention on your show. Please let me know if you do.
Thanks…Chris
